The most hectic time of my life.

Hello everyone. Sorry I’ve been gone for so long.  Here’s what I’ve been dealing with.

That’s what my schedule’s been looking like. This doesn’t include homework and other fun stuff.
Here are some fun points in my life that I feel like talking about:

My Health Style:

On January 1st, I weighed 175.3 lbs. Since then I’ve dedicated my time to eating healthy and maintaining a constant workout schedule.  My diet includes:
  • Breakfast – 4 egg whites mixed with spinach and a large glass of water.
Sometimes I make oatmeal with fruit, regular oats, greek yogurt and chia seeds (absorb water)
  • Lunch – A Naked (Vegan) Smoothie with lots of fruit and veggies (No added sugar) And then a grilled chicken wrap with spinach, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and lemon juice.
  • Dinner – Grilled Lemon Chicken with carrots and spinach (varies around that)
  • Snack – Natural Peanut butter with Apple Oat Crackers (completely natural and healthy)
  • ONE DAY A WEEK – I do a cleanse with a smoothie that has a bunch of herbs, like cilantro, parsley, spinach, an apple and a lemon. And then I have a spinach salad with peppers and lemon juice. This refreshes my body after a weekend. The smoothie doesn’t taste horrible, but the texture gets me. It makes me feel great though.
I also do 1 hour workouts, 4 days a week. I have been doing this for about 3 weeks now, and I am now, wait for it, 165 lbs. Losing 10 pounds in two-threeish weeks is really great for me! My goal is to be down to 140 lbs, but that’s just really out there. But I’m really proud of myself.

My Advertising Club:

I really love advertising. If I’ve realized anything over the past two weeks, it’s that I am in the right major. I’m currently working on a Campaign for Mary Kay Cosmetics. I am the Creative Director, so I come up with the tone and visuals for the campaign. I really really love it. I was terrified at first, just because I wasn’t really sure what I was doing; however, after a few meetings I’ve gotten the hang of it. The key is to make sure no one knows that you’re terrified. They don’t question your authority that way.

My website:

I have finally been able to re-wire my website, rachelgiese.com. It took two weeks and a lot of time online with customer services, but I have reconnected everything from the old service to the new one. They were both pointing fingers at each other, and one finally admitted defeat and let go of my domain.  But any-who, I have to work on that this weekend.  I’m really excited about that just because then I will be able to start applying for internships. I can’t wait!

My social life:

It’s very small, but it’s there. I can only really hangout with people on the weekends, but that’s okay. I get to see Chrissy, I talk to Danielle (not as much as I’d hoped) and I get to text Liz. I see a lot of my sisters and I love them very much. I absolutely love my sorority. I get to see my family this weekend! I love them very much as well. I wish I was able to see them more. Next week will be the 11 month marking of Brenden and I officially dating. We met Feb. 8th, 2013. Dating 3 weeks later. That’s so freaking weird! I can’t imagine my life without him. I sound like a stupid lovestruck puppy, but I don’t care. I feel like I’m still in the honeymoon phase, so I’m in shock that it’s lasted a year. In my past relationships that feeling had lasted maybe 2 months at the most. So this is a big deal, because we haven’t gotten mad at each other. Sure, we’ve gotten irritated, and we’ve had a couple little arguments, but we have never fought. And I value that so much. During Christmas he got me a lavaliere, which is the letters of his fraternity on a charm.  I really love it, because it has sparkles on it. But it’s pretty much like the high school version of wearing the man’s letterman’s jacket. Again, cheesy but I don’t care. He makes me so incredibly happy, and my happiness is what allows me to balance everything else in my life. So there!
Overall, I may complain about how busy I am, but I am oh-so happy.  I think I’m going to get all As this semester, and I think our campaign for AAF is going to go well at our competition. My spring break is finalized, and I am so happy with all of my friends. I am so thankful for what I have, and I can’t begin to describe how lucky I am.
